Yesterday was easily one of the most amazing days of my life. But I'll spare the words for now and just show you some of the pictures I managed to take.
On Day 1 I managed to get away from the interpreters' table long enough to cheer for Yasumoto-senpai against Sandor Bak from Hungary. The match went three rounds but unfortunately the judges gave it to Bak. Here's the osu at the beginning:
and some of the match itself:
My exciting staff badge:
Here's the ladiez. My hero and inspiration Veronika won first place, of course! When she won that last fight I was actually moved to tears, it was just so moving and powerful!
I have the biggest straight crush on Veronika...
...and an equally big straight crush on Donatas, who appears to be looking right at me, his happy interpreter buddy, in this picture!
On the winners' platform, Tsukagoshi and Donatas were happily chatting with each other the whole time in English. How awesome it is that these guys have been training for months practicing how to beat each other up, then spent time at the tournament doing exactly that, but afterwards can chat like buddies?!
Midori Kenji, the president of Shinkyokushin, apologized for interrupting them when he presented Tsukagoshi with his medal.
I don't have a foot fetish or anything, I swear, but I thought Donatas' humongous feet were kinda cute. =D
The best cheer squad EVER!
